Awesome for partitioning, resizing and imaging.

rPath Based Distros

Cool conary packaging system, and of course the latest Gnome. Good for most people.

Slackware Based Distros

Slackware for 64bit.
Not for the newbie.
Good for the hardcore and user with little memory.
Lightweight, fast, slackware based distro. If you have older hardware, give it a shot.

RedHat Based Distros

Great distro, great for beginners and pros alike. Personally, my favorite desktop distro, and they even maintain a PPC version.
Solid KDE RPM distribution, great hardware detection. KDE lovers give it a try.
Just like Mythbuntu, if you want to watch and record tv, get it. Get this one if you dont like Ubuntu.
Its a solid distro, everybody should try it at least once.

Gentoo Based Distros

Definitely a more advanced distribution.
Beautiful desktop, brings Gentoo to the masses.

Other Distros

Cool distribution, lightweight, but doesn't follow the beaten path. More advanced users give it a shot, it might be for you.
I find it cool when a distribution is based on nobody else, I will definitely be giving it a try.
